African Odyssey:
50 years of Zimbabwean Stone Sculpture:
This exhibition series, curated by the African Millennium Foundation, celebrates half-century of the 'Shona' sculpting movement from its historical origins to its contemporary manifestations. The landmark retrospective was hailed by art critics including the BBC London, Africa experts at the British Museum and by the Royal British Society of Sculptors as the most important exhibition of its kind.
The showcase includes the monumental sculptures by Dominic Benhura, which have been causing a major stir in Britain, where they were selected by the Open University for public display.
